American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (CPR/AED)

This course is for all healthcare providers such as: Doctors, Dentists, Nurses, Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, any healthcare providers that provide patient care, Paramedics, Firefighters, Police Officers, E.M.T.’s, First Responders.  This required training meets all statutory and regulatory requirements for all healthcare providers.

Course content summary:

  • Describe the importance of high-quality CPR and its impact on survival.
  • Describe and practice scene safety techniques.
  • Describe all the steps of the Chain of Survival and apply the BLS concepts of the Chain of Survival.
  • Describe and practice how to recognize the signs of someone needing CPR/Defibrillation.
  • Describe and practice high-quality CPR on adults, children, and infants.
  • Describe the importance of early AED use and practice AED use on patients of all ages.
  • Describe and practice effective ventilations with a CPR Mask and Bag Valve Mask on patients of all ages.
  • Describe the importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitations.  Practice multirescuer scenarios.  Practice being an effective team member during a multirescuer resuscitation.
  • Describe important elements of team dynamics during a multirescuer resuscitation.
  • Describe and practice the techniques for relief of a foreign-body airway obstruction for adults, children and infants.

Renewal course:  For those who have taken this course before and who’s cards are not expired.

Length of course: 3 hours.

Credentialed course:  Students who complete this course will receive an American Heart Association card of completion.  This card is used by students for applicable professional boards, associations, regulatory bodies and employers to prove the student has successfully completed this course.

  • Onsite Group rates for organizations and businesses needing to train 9-20 students: $57.00 per student.
  • Onsite Group rates for organizations and businesses needing to train 21 or more students: $54.00 per student.
  • Non-Group rate for individuals joining a scheduled class: $57.00

Initial course:  For those who have never taken this course or who’s card has expired.

Length of course:  5 hours.
